COMPASS Project – Regional Stakeholder Workshop
A regional stakeholder workshop co-organized by the COMPASS Geothermal project and GreetGEO (in which La Palma Research Centre is a partner) took place in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, July 22, 2025, at the Instituto Tecnológico de Canarias, focusing on the development of high-temperature geothermal energy in the Canary Islands.
The event convened representatives from public authorities, research institutions, and energy developers to discuss the region’s geothermal potential and the role it could play in Europe’s clean energy transition. Key topics and discussions included technological innovation, regulatory frameworks, and environmental sustainability.
This workshop is part of the broader COMPASS initiative, which aims to support the deployment of geothermal energy across Europe through collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strategic planning.
