START Project Final Review Meeting (Alkmaar, The Netherlands, September 2026)

The START Project consortium met one more time for the project’s final Review Meeting, after the final events from last May. The meeting was held in the premises of project partner Thermagy, one of the main technological partners that created a new sustainable thermoelectric module from the project’s efforts. La Palma Research Centre was present at the meeting as WP 7 leader.

This review meeting arrives after the last four years of research, development and collaboration, and aimed at corroborating the project’s achievements and results. Led by LNEG, the project set out to demonstrate a more sustainable European pathway for thermoelectrics, developing tetrahedrite-based materials recovered from secondary raw materials as a tellurium-free solution for energy harvesting, while building an ecosystem around these concepts.

LPRC, which led WP7 dedicated to Innovation, Exploitation and Sustainability was the main responsible for the development of several results, mainly the Innovation Agenda and Roadmaps for future implementation, the Sustainable European Thermoelectric Systems company and the Sustainable Thermoelectric Alliance. All of this – and more – are part of the START Technology Marketplace.

With the project over, it is time to look for the future and new opportunities to continue the development of thermoelectricity in Europe!
