LPRC joins the FIREFLY Consortium Meeting (October 2026, Ciudad Real, Spain)
On 7-8 October 2026, LPRC joined the FIREFLY project partners for another Consortium Meeting, hosted by the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) in Ciudad Real, Spain.
The meeting had three main objectives: to bring partners together to review the project’s progress and discuss the remaining steps towards its completion; to showcase the pilot plant being developed using FIREFLY technologies; and to organise two workshops dedicated to exploitation and roadmapping.
LPRC played an active role throughout the event, presenting the work carried out under WP2, which focuses on the supply of waste catalysts and the development of a Material Flow Analysis (MFA) and a Geographic Information System (GIS) inventory, and under WP8, on the roadmapping for the FIREFLY process. LPRC also organised and facilitated the 2nd Roadmapping Workshop as part of its activities under WP8, following the 1st Roadmapping Workshop held back in February. While the 1st workshop focused on getting a strategic overview of the project’s future iteration, this 2nd workshop was drawn to collect specific data for the follow-up of many of the project’s outputs, including integration of renewable energy, catalyst technologies, recovery technologies from waste catalysts, resource availability and digitalisation. To support the preparation of the workshop, LPRC invited external experts, including two from Japan and one from Greece. Together with the project partners, these experts explored potential future developments for the FIREFLY project.
LPRC would like to thank UCLM for hosting the meeting and extend its sincere appreciation to all the external experts who dedicated their time and expertise to contributing to FIREFLY’s roadmapping activities. Work will now proceed by brining all roadmapping data together to prepare the future FIREFLY Roadmaps towards commercialisation.
