FIREFLY Consortium meeting & Roadmapping Workshop (Brussels, February 2026)
The FIREFLY project partners gathered in Brussels, Belgium, between the 4 to 6 February 2026, for another project meeting. However, this time it was coupled with a review meeting with the EC and with a Roadmapping and Exploitation Workshop. The latter was co-organised by the team of LPRC implementing the Roadmapping activities.
During the first day, WP leaders presented their work on the development of the electro-driven technologies for metal recycling from spent, waste, and off-specification catalysts available in Europe, integration of renewable electricity, a digital tool for predictive decision-making and production of (electro)catalysts for innovative (electro)chemical processes that overcome traditional production routes associated with high operating conditions, greenhouse gas emissions, and lack of circularity. Now entering its last year, it is ever more important for partners to update their work, prepare and align future actions.
The second day of the meeting was dedicated to the review of the work performed by the project during the 2nd reporting period, from July 2024 to December 2025. In this instance, LPRC, as leaders of WP 2 – Supply of waste catalyst and mapping of relevant resources, presented the work implemented by partners in the WP.
Finally, the 3rd day was reserved for a Exploitation and Roadmapping Workshop with project partners and invited experts. Here, LPRC was responsible for the preparation and hosting of the Roadmapping part, including inviting external experts to join the efforts in mapping actions, key performance indicators and milestones with a vision of bringing the FIREFLY technology line to higher Technology Readiness Levels. Experts contributed to roadmapping workshop with their own ideas and visions, adding a unique layer of data.
Work will now proceed with data analysis and development of the first version of the roadmap that will be tailored later this year.
