LPRC presents the GENESIS project at the Miniferias (May 2026, La Palma)

On May 21, 2026, the GENESIS project joined the Canary Islands Science and Innovation Mini-Fairs, held in La Palma, with a workshop organized by AIM in collaboration with La Palma Research Centre titled “Groundwater Dynamics in La Palma and Research on Nature-Based Solutions”.

Using an interactive model, students were able to observe how groundwater moves and is managed, gaining an understanding of processes essential to the sustainability of water resources. The students’ interest and curiosity took center stage, generating questions, reflections, and connections between ideas as they discovered how the system works.

Through this initiative, LPRC together with AIM were able to bring science closer to the public by raising awareness about groundwater and its key role in island territories such as the Canary Islands.

The Mini Science and Innovation Fairs in the Canary Islands are promoted by the Canary Islands Government’s Department of Universities, Science, Innovation, and Culture through the Canary Islands Agency for Research, Innovation, and the Information Society (ACIISI).
